The first full-length poetry collection by Kurt Luchs, Falling in the Direction of Up, is scheduled for publication on May 1, 2021, by Sagging Meniscus Press. The volume will contain poems written and published in literary magazines since Finishing Line Press issued his first chapbook, One of These Things Is Not Like the Other, such as “Suzie,” winner of the 2019 Atlanta Review International Poetry Contest, and “Tokyo Rose,” which won second place in the Fischer Poetry Prize at the 2019 Telluride Literary Festival. The book will also include new poems first seen in such periodicals as The American Journal of Poetry, Plume Poetry Journal, The Bitter Oleander, The Nervous Breakdown, Verdad Magazine, Third Coast, Reed Magazine and South Florida Poetry Journal. The cover art is by Royce M. Becker, who previously designed the author’s humor collection, It’s Funny Until Someone Loses an Eye (Then It’s Really Funny), published by Sagging Meniscus in 2017.
